Prince Harry’s latest trip to the UK seems to carry more than just his usual charitable intentions. As the Duke of Sussex prepares to attend the WellChild Awards in London on Monday, September 30th, there are whispers of a secret mission beyond the charity event. Royal experts suggest Harry is looking into securing his future in his home country—specifically, ensuring his safety and perhaps even finding a more permanent place to stay.

This time, Harry’s plans seem more carefully guarded than usual. A source told The Express that the location of the charity event will remain undisclosed until the day of, for security reasons. Even the place where Harry will be staying has been kept strictly private. With concerns about his safety while in the UK, the Duke seems focused on more than just this one event.

Royal commentator Tom Quinn believes Harry’s visit might involve house hunting. “Harry is determined to find his own permanent home in the UK, which is partly why he’s continuing his legal action to get the British taxpayer to pay for his security,” Quinn revealed to The Mirror.

For Harry, it’s not just about security; it’s also about a sense of belonging. Living in the U.S. for several years, Quinn suggests that Harry has started to feel the pull of his old life in the UK. “As time goes by, Harry misses some aspects of his old life in the UK,” Quinn said. “Inevitably, the honeymoon period where everything in the States is new and exciting is coming to an end, and Harry is looking back at the past through rose-tinted spectacles.”

Quinn added that Harry feels homesick for more than just the UK itself. He misses his old friends—specifically, his Old Etonian and army mates, many of whom have stayed away because of their strained relationships with his wife, Meghan Markle. “He misses his Old Etonian and army friends, many of whom have not visited as they don’t get on with Meghan,” Quinn continued.

Though nothing official has been announced from Harry’s camp, this visit may serve more than its public purpose. With talks of a permanent residence, the next time Harry returns, it could be to a home of his own in the UK. For now, it remains to be seen whether the Duke of Sussex will stay in a hotel or choose a different location for his visit.
