Prince Harry Defends Meghan as ‘Misunderstood’ Amid Claims of Her ‘Whisper Shout’ Habit
Prince Harry is reportedly shocked by the way Meghan Markle is perceived, as claims of her being difficult to work with continue to surface. The Duke of Sussex, however, remains steadfast in his belief that his wife is often misunderstood and dismisses rumors of her alleged temper.
The controversy was reignited following a recent Vanity Fair article, in which insiders suggested that Meghan’s presence can be challenging for those around her. According to the report, some former staff members described working with her as “awful.”
A source quoted in the article claimed that Meghan’s style of communication could be unsettling. “You can be yelled at even if somebody doesn’t raise their voice,” the source stated, implying that her tone, rather than volume, contributes to the perception of her being difficult.
Royal commentator Camilla Tominey also quoted a former palace staffer who shed light on why Prince Harry may not fully grasp the criticism directed at his wife.
“Meghan has a habit of using a whisper shout, so when Harry is in the room, he just hears her talking normally and doesn’t understand why people describe her as aggressive. His default response is always ‘Meghan is misunderstood,’” the staffer explained.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped away from royal duties in 2020, making a high-profile exit from the Royal Family alongside their son, Prince Archie. In the years since, the couple has been vocal about their experiences within the monarchy, publicly accusing members of the Royal Family of racism and emotional neglect.
Their explosive interviews and documentary appearances have fueled ongoing tensions with the British establishment. Now settled in California, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have built a new life, welcoming their daughter, Princess Lilibet, and pursuing media ventures, philanthropy, and activism. Despite their efforts to move forward, the scrutiny surrounding Meghan’s personality and alleged workplace conduct continues to follow them.
While Prince Harry remains defensive of his wife, the Vanity Fair report has reignited debate over the treatment of staff and the couple’s public image. Some critics argue that Meghan has been unfairly vilified by the British press, while others believe that reports of a tense working environment cannot be ignored.
As the Sussexes continue to navigate their post-royal lives, the public divide over Meghan’s character—and Harry’s unwavering support—remains a key point of discussion in royal circles.
