Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new title as “losers” has raised questions about the future of their brand and their ability to maintain their high-profile lifestyle. Royal expert Kinsey Schofield shared her thoughts on the couple’s situation in an interview with Talk TV, explaining how the label could negatively impact their future plans.
According to Schofield, Meghan and Harry were named among the “biggest Hollywood winners and losers of 2023,” with the couple landing on the “losers” side. Schofield remarked, “Harry and Meghan, who certainly consider themselves Hollywood elite, have found themselves on the losers side.”
She added that this designation by The Hollywood Reporter—which she described as “basically the bible in this city”—was particularly damaging for the couple. “This has got to hurt Harry and Meghan personally,” Schofield continued, noting that the negative label could have serious repercussions for their public image and career prospects.
The royal expert also pointed out that their talent agency, William Morris Endeavor (WME), is likely feeling the pressure. “It’s got to have William Morris Endeavor scrambling to figure out their next steps,” she concluded.
The backlash against the couple has not only come from experts but also from those within their inner circles. A source with ties to WME spoke with Daily Express US, addressing the rumors of a potential Netflix contract cut-off. While the source clarified that “there’s absolutely no suggestion—yet—that there will be a parting of the ways,” they acknowledged that the situation is becoming increasingly difficult for the couple.
“Whether or not Meghan was the source of a single word in Endgame, the fact is that its contents have backfired enormously on her and Harry,” the insider revealed. “Aside from their family issues, the public perception of them both has taken another big hit, resulting in a further loss of popularity and making it much harder to market her.”
The combination of the negative press and their declining popularity appears to be posing significant challenges for the couple’s professional future, as they continue to navigate the complexities of their public and private lives.
