Kate Middleton Shares Insights on Maintaining Her Iconic Hair Amid Cancer Treatment
Kate Middleton recently opened up about her experience maintaining her iconic locks during preventative chemotherapy while interacting with a patient at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.
During her visit, the Princess of Wales met with cancer patients and reflected on her own journey through treatment. Katherine Field, a patient at the facility, shared her conversation with People Magazine, revealing how Kate navigated the challenges of chemotherapy.
Field, who was undergoing cold cap therapy to reduce hair loss, noted that Kate did not require the treatment during her preventative chemotherapy. “I hate it,” Field admitted of the cold cap, a device worn during chemotherapy to minimize hair loss.
“But I think it is working. Today there is a little bit of hair coming out, but I’m just trying to delay it.” When asked if Kate mentioned using the therapy, Field said, “She just said that she didn’t have to have it.” “For her to lose her hair, which is so iconic, would have been awful,” Field added. “Everyone loves her hair!”
Field described her conversation with Kate as deeply personal and relatable. “It was just like talking to a friend about a really horrible time in life and how you find ways of getting through it. ‘Finding the new normal’ is what she said, which is absolutely true,” she recounted.
Reflecting on the memorable moment, Field expressed gratitude for the interaction. “I really love the photo. It was a special moment that not many people get to have,” she said. “Unfortunately, I had to get cancer to have that moment, but I will add it to my album for sure.”
“I want to remember the good, not just the bad,” she concluded. Kate’s visit and candid discussion underscored her ability to connect with others through shared experiences, offering support and encouragement to those facing difficult times. Her grace and resilience continue to inspire, even as she reflects on her personal challenges.
