It has been claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will go on more “fake royal tours” next year. Despite stepping back as senior members of the Royal Family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not participated in any official royal engagements.

A few have noted that their recent trip to New York bears an uncanny resemblance to tours we’ve seen the couple do on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen.

Meghan and Prince Harry traveled to New York in September for their first public engagement since Lilibet‘s birth. During the visit, the couple was hosted by the city’s mayor Bill de Blasio, arriving in much fanfare.

The couple no longer participates in official royal tours, but some claim the visit was strikingly similar. Speculating on the rumored trips, royal commentator Neil Sean, on his YouTube channel, went so far as to term them “fake royal tours, reported the Daily Star.

And he predicts that the trend will continue in 2022. It remains to be seen whether Archie and Lilibet will join in on the photo opportunity. Neil predicts that Harry and Meghan will make good use of their passports in 2022.

He thinks they will travel to Australia and Japan, as well as tour parts of the United States.

Sean said: “According to a very good source, Harry and Meghan are planning even more, shall we say, ‘fake royal tours’ in 2022.

“Apparently they are looking to tour Australia, Japan, and back to certain areas of the United States.”

Sean says that it may be to boost their popularity. He suggested that the pair are “not that popular right now” and added: “Maybe they’re hoping to reignite their once popularity in far-flung places.”

However, he did comment: “But a lot of people, particularly senior courtiers in the royal circles, are baffled, because, what exactly are they touring for?
