Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Reportedly Considering UK Return Amid Career Struggles
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly exploring the possibility of returning to Britain as they face mounting challenges in their post-royal life. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have seen their lucrative Spotify deal collapse and are struggling to maintain their partnership with Netflix, are said to be reassessing their future and weighing their options.
Royal expert Brontë Coy suggested that Harry, in particular, may be reconsidering his relationship with the UK. “A lot of things have changed in the past five years, and it’s entirely possible that, with some reflection, there’s a big part of him wondering if there’s a way to bring the UK back into his life,” Coy stated.
Despite their dramatic exit from royal life in 2020, Harry has continued to express his attachment to his homeland. One of his key concerns remains ensuring the safety of himself and his family while in the UK, particularly for his two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.
“He wants to ensure the safety of himself and his family while in the UK so his children can know his home country and so he can help his patronages and their important work,” Coy explained. When Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals, they made it clear that their decision stemmed from dissatisfaction with their roles and treatment within the royal institution.
However, Coy suggested that time may have softened some of those emotions. “When they left, they left in such a passionate blaze of glory—they were so disheartened and bruised by the situation they’d had back here,” she noted. “With all these things, once the dust settles and the emotion gets taken out of it a bit, the reality is he loves his home country—he talked about it in his memoir.”
The expert further pointed out that after several years away, Harry may simply miss his homeland. “After a few years, he probably just very much misses it,” she added While there has been no official confirmation from the Sussex camp, speculation continues to grow about whether the couple will reestablish some form of presence in the UK.
Given their recent struggles in securing long-term media deals and the challenges of maintaining their brand in the U.S., a strategic return to Britain—whether full-time or part-time—could be an option they are now seriously considering.
For now, the question remains: will the Duke and Duchess of Sussex find a way to reconnect with the UK while maintaining their independence, or will they continue forging a new path overseas?
