Trump Doesn’t Want His Mugshot Taken In Georgia

Despite his strong public rhetoric, Donald Trump’s legal team is currently in negotiations to prevent the taking of his mugshot photo when he surrenders in Georgia.

Initially, when Trump was indicted in the classified documents case, he was inclined to have his mugshot taken, believing it would bolster his campaign.

However, with his fourth indictment now on the books, Trump has had a change of heart and is adamantly against having his mugshot captured. Instead, his campaign has been using a photoshopped graphic for fundraising purposes, and they wish to continue doing so.

The Fulton County sheriff has emphasized that Trump will be treated like any other individual surrendering to law enforcement, receiving no special treatment.

The discussion regarding the terms of surrender is more of a courtesy, as the warrant for Trump’s arrest has already been issued. If Trump persists in opposing the mugshot, the arrest warrant against him can be executed after the Friday surrender deadline.

Concerned about the potential political fallout, Trump’s apprehensions regarding the mugshot are evident. The prospect of images and videos featuring the former president in handcuffs could have significant political repercussions.

It’s worth noting that Trump lacks substantial negotiating leverage in this situation. During previous arraignments, he received special treatment, but now the American public may witness him being treated like any other individual facing legal proceedings in Georgia.
