Donald Trump Jr.’s budding relationship with Florida socialite Bettina Anderson is already raising eyebrows within MAGA circles, with insiders voicing concerns over her social media history and public persona. Some fear she could become a “headache” for both Don Jr. and President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration.
Sources speaking to Daily Mail highlighted the unease surrounding Anderson, particularly after resurfaced social media posts hinted at views misaligned with Trump’s base.
Anderson, 38, subtly revealed her romance with Trump Jr. last week by sharing an Instagram story featuring a birthday bouquet and a note from him, even as he was still publicly linked to Kimberly Guilfoyle.
The pair were soon spotted enjoying a date night at the upscale Buccan restaurant in Palm Beach before “parading their love for all to see” at Mar-a-Lago. Days later, the couple jetted off to Europe, further fueling speculation about the seriousness of their relationship.
However, Anderson’s past posts stirred skepticism. In 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, she shared a photo of herself wearing a mask with the caption, “Only you can stop the spread of ignorance,” a stance that clashed with MAGA opposition to mandates.
That same year, she supported the Black Lives Matter movement, posting a blacked-out screen—a sharp contrast to Trump supporters’ criticism of the movement. Adding to the unease is Anderson’s humorous online persona. Her Instagram bio jokingly describes her as a “stay-at-home mom” with no children, husband, or chores.
She once posted, “Every day is independence day when you don’t have children,” alongside images playfully poking fun at a child-free lifestyle. Such sentiments have drawn criticism from conservative circles, particularly after figures like J.D. Vance denounced “childless cat ladies” as undermining traditional family values.
“We can’t afford to have any headaches or liabilities trying to grift their way to more Instagram followers,” an insider close to Trump’s inner circle told Daily Mail. “Especially ones who aren’t MAGA to begin with.”
Despite the scrutiny, Anderson appears to have ingrained herself into the Trump family. She was first spotted with Don Jr. at a brunch date in September and has maintained friendships with his ex-wife Vanessa Trump and their children. Notably, Anderson appeared in a TikTok video alongside Don Jr.’s daughter Kai, celebrating her golf commitment to the University of Miami.
Now, Don Jr. reportedly plans to bring Anderson to his father’s January inauguration, a move that could further test her acceptance among the MAGA faithful. As one insider put it, “She wasn’t MAGA to begin with,” summing up the skepticism surrounding her place in Trump’s world.
