Melania Trump’s memoir, launched on October 8, offers a glimpse into her life before and during her time as First Lady, including her relationship with former President Donald Trump. One particularly intriguing story from the book recounts a conversation between the couple shortly after Trump’s victory in the 2016 election.

Melania recalls the moment she congratulated her husband on becoming the 45th president of the United States, saying, “What an achievement. All those other people… and you won. You’re the president of the United States of America.” Donald’s brief, two-word reply was, “And you’re the First Lady.” He added, “Good luck.”

According to The List, Melania admits she was initially confused by his remark. “I looked at him, momentarily unsure of his meaning,” she writes. But she soon realized that the message came from a place of confidence. “Good luck? I realized he wasn’t worried, he was proudly confident I could handle the future,” she explains. Melania interpreted his comment as his unique way of saying, “I know you’ll excel. Let’s get started.”

Donald Trump has publicly praised Melania’s memoir. On X (formerly Twitter), he expressed pride in her achievement, writing, “Very proud of Melania! Her book is out nationally and for sale everywhere. It is really great! She was a fantastic First Lady and shares that experience, and much more.

As per the New York Post, She’s also a really good writer, as she showed at the Republican National Convention with her letter, which turned out to be a sensational highlight. Perfect for Christmas. Get it now and enjoy!” During a recent rally in Long Island, Trump humorously referenced Melania’s memoir. As the crowd cheered, he encouraged them to buy the book, joking, “Go out and get her book.

I hope she said good things about me. And if she says bad things about me I’ll call you all up and I’ll say don’t buy it, get rid of it,” to the amusement of the audience. In an appearance on Fox & Friends, Melania shared with host Ainsley Earhardt what she admires most about her husband. “His being. His humor. His personality. His kindness…He’s very special,” she gushed. “His positivity.

According to Hola Magazine, His energy. It’s unbelievable. Yeah, so we have a beautiful relationship.” Reflecting on why she chose to write the memoir, Melania explained, “I believe that it was the time that I tell my story and the truth.” She added, “There is a lot of misinformation and falsehoods written about me, and I want to set the record straight. I hope people enjoy the book and learn things that were never discussed.”
