Eric Trump Praises Elon Musk’s X After Hackers Breach Lara and Tiffany Trump’s Accounts

Eric Trump commended Elon Musk’s X platform, calling it “amazing” after hackers briefly compromised the accounts of his wife, Lara Trump, and his half-sister, Tiffany Trump. The breach, which occurred on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, saw hackers posting fake links to a Trump-related cryptocurrency project.

Initially, Eric Trump issued an urgent warning via his X account, writing, “This is a scam!!!” He alerted followers that the Twitter profiles of Lara, co-chair of the Republican National Committee, and Tiffany had been hacked. The fraudulent posts were quickly deleted, and the platform acted to secure the compromised accounts.

Despite the embarrassing incident, especially considering Donald Trump’s close relationship with Elon Musk, Eric was quick to offer praise. He later posted, “@Twitter was amazing and has locked down @LarsLeaTrump and @TiffanyATrump accounts within minutes,” ensuring there were no lingering hard feelings between the Trump family and Musk.

The hacked posts promoted a real Trump crypto project, World Liberty Financial, which the former president had teased in a recent statement but had yet to formally launch. The fake links led to fraudulent websites claiming to be associated with the project but were actually registered to The Pirate Bay dark-web marketplace, according to CNBC.

Following the breach, World Liberty’s official account confirmed the situation, posting on X, “ALERT: Lara’s and Tiffany Trump’s X accounts have been hacked. Do NOT click on any links or purchase any tokens shared from their profiles. We’re actively working to fix this, but please stay vigilant and avoid scams!” One of the top replies humorously noted, “Scammers getting scammed.”

On Monday, The Independent reported that the Trump-backed cryptocurrency project had also been targeted by scammers on the project’s Telegram account. Ads promoting fake currency “airdrops” or token sales had been placed, prompting further warnings for users to avoid clicking on suspicious links. While the situation was quickly brought under control, the incident serves as a reminder of the vulnerabilities even high-profile individuals face in the digital world.
