Don Jr. Criticized for Nicotine Product Seen in Photo with His Children: ‘Not the Zyn Next to the Child

Donald Trump Jr. may have sparked controversy over a seemingly innocent family post shared on social media this past Saturday, January 4. The 47-year-old businessman posted a series of heartwarming photos on Instagram featuring his children, Spencer, 12, and Chloe, 10, enjoying a “games night and indoor s’mores.”
However, what seemed like a sweet family moment quickly became the center of a social media debate due to one small detail in the photos. Among the s’mores-making fun and board games, observant followers noticed an opened container of Zyn nicotine pouches on the table.
The discovery of the nicotine product raised concerns, particularly from those who felt its presence was inappropriate around children. “Not the Zyn next to the child!” one follower commented, while another pointed out, “You probably shouldn’t let your daughter Zyn at that age.”
Others were more concerned about the implications of having nicotine products around children, with one user adding, “I hope he doesn’t get high around his children,” and another joking, “S’mores and Zyns.”
While some were quick to criticize the proximity of the nicotine pouch to the kids, others took a more measured approach. They noted that the canister was closed, and Spencer and Chloe appeared unaware of its presence, the Daily Mail reported.
Despite the polarized reactions, the Zyn debate itself is not new; the nicotine pouch brand has become an unlikely symbol of conservative masculinity in recent months, even making headlines in November when conservative journalist Tucker Carlson launched his own nicotine product, ALP, in protest of alleged political donations made by employees of Philip Morris, the company behind Zyn.
In addition to the family photo controversy, Trump Jr. has recently made headlines due to his new relationship with Bettina Anderson. The couple made their debut at Mar-a-Lago last week, just three months after they were first seen together at a Palm Beach restaurant.
Sources close to the Trump family revealed that Trump Jr. plans to bring Anderson to his father Donald Trump’s inauguration later this month, though this decision has reportedly caused some tension within the Trump inner circle.
Trump Jr. also addressed his recent breakup with Kimberly Guilfoyle, with whom he had been in a relationship since 2018. In a statement, he underscored their mutual respect, saying, “Kimberly and I will never stop caring for each other and will always keep a special bond.”
