£32 Million Super Yacht with Night Club

These are the first photographs showing the finished interior of Eddie Jordan’s new super yacht. Until now only computer renderings have been available but the official launch of the yacht in Poole this week gave Motor Boat & Yachting the chance to take the first interior shots of the new Sun seeker 155 and talk to Eddie Jordan about his new boat.

The F1 commentator and former team owner thanked company founder Robert Wraith Waite and the whole Sun seeker team for building his new boat before smashing the traditional bottle of champagne on her anchor plate and naming his new craft Blush. “I can’t believe it’s 29 years since I rocked up here in a Mohawk 29,” said Eddie, referring to the first of nine Sun seekers he has owned over the years.

“I swore at the time that I would never go bigger and here I am today taking delivery of the first 155. Let’s hope it will be the first of many for Sun seeker.” As well as being the biggest Sun seeker yet, the 155 also introduces a number of firsts for the Poole yard. The beach club stern with sliding glass doors opening up onto the bathing platform allows guests to sunbathe and socialist at sea level, while the 6.5m custom built RIB tender emerges from a side opening garage just ahead of it.

Twin jet skis stored in the bow ensure there are plenty of toys to keep charter guests amused Glass plays a big role inside the Super yacht too and not just in the form of the copious floor-to-ceiling windows, folding balconies and sliding side doors. Crushed and textured glass bulkhead panels add light and sparkle to the main saloon and stairwell.  Limed oak floors and cabinetry with stitched leather inserts in a palette of muted tones give a cool, calm feel to the interior by designer Sallyanne Holmes.

The highlight of the new yacht are the two main-deck guest cabins which feature unique two-section floor-to-ceiling windows giving spectacular views from the low-level double beds. The idea has proved so successful that hull number two will adopt the same idea in the master suite. On Eddie’s boat, however, the owner’s suite enjoys a unique balcony area with a large glazed section of the topsides lifting on hydraulic struts to let the outside in when conditions allow.

All six cabins are mounted on rubber mounts to minimize noise and vibration while the round-bilge hull ensures it slips through turbulent seas with minimal effort. Sales director Sean Robertson described it as “a different league again to the 40m” in terms of comfort and refinement but confirmed that it still reached a top speed of over 20 knots with full tanks for a non-stop cruising range of over 4,500 miles at 10-12 knots. The yacht is due to leave for Monaco later this week with ten crew fully prepared for her first hectic charter season. -Mby.com
