As always, the popular Gulf destination of Dubai has managed to hold on to the numero uno position in the category of the “World’s Most Expensive Fountain”.  Experts reckon that the honor of being the world’s tallest, largest and most expensive man made cascading structure goes to the magnificent “Dubai fountain”.

The exotic fountain is located on the vast 30 acre Burj Khalifa Lake that is situated in middle of the downtown Burj Dubai development project which also includes the gigantic skyscraper of Burj Dubai and the magnificent Dubai mall. According to media reports the super tall fountain towers over the entire landscape and its height is measured at over 900 feet long. The fountain can spray jets of water up to a height of 500 feet. This extravagant display of water has been reportedly designed by the renowned global designing firm “WET”.

The company charged a whopping amount of $ 217 million to design and build the massive aquatic structure. Reportedly the Dubai fountain was constructed by the same firm that created the world famous fountains of Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. The Dubai fountain, the world’s largest man made dancing water body was officially inaugurated was on 8th May 2009 in a glitzy function attended by the elite people of the Gulf city. The event collided with the opening function of the popular Dubai mall. The fountain can reportedly spray as much as 25,000 gallons of water in the air at any given point of time in several directions in many different combinations of shapes. The show dished up by the water body is considered to be a visual treat to the eyes and consists of various beautiful dancing fountains enhanced by 6,600 WET super lights and 25 color projectors. The fountain can be set to different computer synchronized music forms that range from the classical to contemporary global and Arabian music. Apparently the resplendent beam of light emitted by the dancing fountains can be seen from a distance of over 20 miles.
