Joe Biden To Announce New Crackdown On Gun Rights

The Daily Wire reports that President Joe Biden is planning to announce a new crackdown on gun rights this week, with far-left anti-gun activist David Hogg expected to attend.

“The Biden administration will come out with its long-awaited ghost gun rule—aimed at reining in privately made firearms without serial numbers that are increasingly cropping up at crime scenes—as soon as Monday,” the Associated Press reported.

Hogg announced his attendance for the announcement on Twitter, writing:

“I will be at the White House on Monday for an announcement from the president of the United States on what actions are being taken to reduce gun violence. Many in the movement including myself have been working on this for months. Looking to finally seeing the results.”

The administration stated that the proposed legislation will combat the use of “ghost guns” by restricting sales to convicts and banning customers, helping law enforcement in tracing guns used in crimes, and reducing the quantity of “ghost guns” on the streets.

“We are committed to taking commonsense steps to address the epidemic of gun violence that takes the lives of too many people in our communities,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland.

“This proposed rule would help keep guns out of the wrong hands and make it easier for law enforcement to trace guns used to commit violent crimes while protecting the rights of law-abiding Americans.”
