Authorities in Hawaii have made a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the tragic death of a 10-year-old girl, revealing disturbing details that have led to the arrest of three individuals on serious charges, including murder.
Brandy Blas, 35, and her husband, Thomas Blas, 40, were taken into custody on Friday, nearly a month after the suspicious death of Geanna Bradley, the child who was under their care. The couple faces a slew of charges, including first-degree endangerment of a minor, second-degree murder, kidnapping, and unlawful imprisonment.
Additionally, Debra D. Geron, 67, who resides in the same household, has also been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, kidnapping, and unlawful imprisonment. Geron, identified as Brandy Blas’ mother, is alleged to have been involved in the tragic events leading to Geanna’s death.
According to Honolulu police homicide Lt. Deena Thoemmes, officers initially responded to a call regarding a 10-year-old girl in need of medical assistance. Upon arrival, they discovered Geanna’s lifeless body, which exhibited signs of “prolonged abuse,” including significant injuries and bruising. Despite attempts to revive her, Geanna was found to be “cold and stiff,” prompting further investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Further examination of Geanna’s physical condition revealed alarming evidence of neglect and abuse. Detectives observed injuries consistent with repeated trauma, including missing teeth and bruising on her face and body. The severity of her injuries indicated a pattern of sustained abuse rather than isolated incidents.
