Dad ‘Allegedly Murders 2-Month-Old Son and Wife’ in Horrific Shooting Spree as Another Child Fights for Life
A tragic shooting in River Ridge, Louisiana, left a mother and her toddler dead, with two other children injured, and their father killed in a shootout with police. Glenn Bohn Jr., 46, is believed to have murdered his wife, Dung Pham, 40, and their two-year-old daughter, Amy Bohne, before engaging in a violent encounter with law enforcement officers on January 18.
The ordeal began at around 4 a.m. when a chilling 911 call from a child inside the home was made. The young caller reportedly told officers, “My dad had shot my mom.” When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Dung and Amy unresponsive in the hallway, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Two additional children, aged 9 and 13, were also discovered injured.
The 9-year-old was in critical condition, while the 13-year-old had been grazed by a bullet in the ankle. Both were quickly rushed to the hospital. As officers secured the residence, they located the suspect, Glenn Bohn Jr., in a back bedroom with a firearm. A confrontation ensued, during which multiple deputies fired their weapons, striking Bohn several times. He was declared dead at the scene, reported WWLTV.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office issued a statement confirming the tragic events: “Around 4:00 am, deputies were called to a residence in the 10000 block of Stephen Dr. after receiving a report that multiple people were shot inside the location.
Upon arrival, deputies located an adult female and a juvenile female inside the residence who were both unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies also located two additional juvenile female victims inside the residence. They were also found to be suffering from gunshot wounds. While securing the residence, deputies encountered an adult male suspect who was armed with a firearm.
During the encounter, multiple deputies fired their service weapons at the suspect striking him multiple times. The two unresponsive victims and the suspect were pronounced dead on the scene. The two wounded victims were transported to an area hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment.”
Sheriff Joseph Lopinto spoke emotionally about the tragic incident, highlighting the bravery of the child who made the 911 call: “The recording of the child making the 911 call was pretty devastating. She’s a brave little girl.” He also confirmed that police were not seeking any other suspects in connection with the crime.
Locals reacted in shock and sadness, with one writing, “What a heartbreaking nightmare. Prayers for all involved.” Another praised the actions of the officers, saying, “Great job JPSO for stopping further atrocities.” The community remains reeling from the loss and the brutality of the crime.
