Wendy Williams Spotted in Public for First Time in Months Amid Health Concerns
After months of speculation and concerns about her well-being, former talk show host Wendy Williams has been seen in public, putting to rest some of the rumors surrounding her whereabouts. This sighting comes after a period of uncertainty, during which her family, including her sister Wanda Williams and niece Alex Finnie, revealed in February that Wendy was in an undisclosed treatment facility, and they were not privy to her location.
“I speak with her very regularly when she reaches out to me. She is, from what I understand, in a wellness, healing type of environment,” Wanda told People earlier this year. “We cannot reach out to her, but she can reach out to us. And she is in a healing place emotionally.”
On Monday, August 19, Victor Bowman Jr., son of the late herbalist Dr. Sebi, shared on Facebook that Wendy and her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., visited his store in Newark, New Jersey, to purchase herbal products. Bowman posted a photo with Wendy, who was recently diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, captioning it, “Wendy Williams come to my store. Much love Queen.”
This public appearance marks the first time Wendy has been seen since May 2023, aside from her participation in the Lifetime documentary “Where Is Wendy Williams,” which aired in February 2024. The documentary, produced by her family, explored her life and the challenges she has faced, including her court-appointed guardianship that some close to her believe has isolated her from loved ones.
The sighting quickly went viral, with The Neighborhood Talk sharing images of Wendy and her son, prompting fans to express relief and happiness at seeing her looking well. “Praying she’s doing better, happy she’s with her son,” one fan commented. Another noted, “Wendy looks healthy. She’s not skinny anymore. She put her weight back on. Happy to see her doing better.”
However, some fans remained cautious, reminding others of the seriousness of Wendy’s condition. “Y’all, SHE HAS DEMENTIA (so they claim), and if that’s true, then there’s ‘no better.’ Now if they choose to bring her back, they can lie about the diagnosis given to all of us, but typically, dementia is something you prepare to start saying goodbye to. Permanently,” one person wrote.
Wendy’s visit to Bowman’s store, known for promoting Dr. Sebi’s alternative healing methods, has sparked conversations about her exploring natural remedies for her condition. Dr. Sebi, who gained attention for his claims of curing various ailments through an alkaline diet and herbal treatments, has been both praised by followers and scrutinized by the medical community. Fans of Wendy Williams are hopeful that she will continue to regain her health and eventually return to the public eye.
