Travis Kelce Makes His Acting Debut in Ryan Murphy’s Grotesque

As Travis Kelce steps into the world of acting with his debut in Grotesquerie, show creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that one particular scene is a subtle nod to Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy revealed a special reference to Swift within the show.

“There’s a little Taylor Swift nod in one scene,” Murphy said, explaining that the moment where Kelce and co-star Niecy Nash-Betts escape in a “red getaway car” is a direct reference to Swift’s hit song Getaway Car.

Swift fans, known as Swifties, had already begun speculating about the connection before Murphy’s confirmation, with many pointing out the possible Easter egg related to Swift’s song from her Reputation album.

In the same interview, Murphy was asked about the possibility of Taylor Swift making an appearance in future projects. He shared his admiration for the pop star, saying, “I’ve talked to Taylor’s people about various things through the years, and all I will say is that I think she’s great, and if she ever has time to do it, I would do it in a heartbeat.”

Murphy went on to praise Swift, saying, “I think she’s one of the greats. I was so shy talking to Travis about her. But he’s very sweet about it and respectful. They are a pop-culture phenomenon. It’s a very interesting dynamic, the way they’ve captured the imagination of the world.”

Turning the conversation back to Kelce, Murphy expressed his confidence in the NFL star’s acting abilities. “I always knew Travis could do it. I have this saying: A star is a star is a star. I just knew he could do it. He rolls up his sleeves and says, ‘Ok, let’s do this,’” Murphy remarked.

With the buzz surrounding Kelce’s acting debut and the Swift-inspired nod, fans of both the football star and the pop icon are eagerly following their latest moves in pop culture.
