Scheana Shay recently shared her “best divorce advice” for fellow Vanderpump Rules stars Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright as they navigate their separation. Speaking with Page Six on Friday night at the Smirnoff Spicy Tamarind Glam Bar in New York City, Shay reflected on her own experience while celebrating National Vodka Day.
“The difference is when I got divorced, there was not a house or a child involved,” Shay said, referencing her 2017 divorce from Mike Shay. She later remarried, tying the knot with Brock Davies in 2022. Offering support to Taylor, 45, and Cartwright, 35, Shay emphasized the importance of prioritizing their 3-year-old son, Cruz.
“My best advice today would just be to try and co-parent the best you can so that Cruz has the most peace possible in his life,” she advised. Shay, who shares a 3-year-old daughter, Summer Moon, with Davies, 34, highlighted the significance of creating a harmonious environment for children during challenging times.
“Never argue in front of your kid,” she added, emphasizing that keeping conflict away from children is crucial. She also encouraged Cartwright to put “herself and her child first” as she navigates the split.
Taylor and Cartwright, who wed in a 2019 ceremony, have experienced ups and downs in their relationship but remain committed to prioritizing their family. Though the separation poses challenges, Shay’s advice underscores the importance of focusing on their son’s well-being as they work through this new chapter in their lives.
