Boxing legend and outspoken Trump supporter Mike Tyson made a bold statement as he arrived at Mar-a-Lago for the Celebrate American Exceptionalism gala on Tuesday night, February 18. The star-studded event, attended by Russell Brand, Ted Nugent, Tyrus Murdoch, and Eddie Griffin, quickly became a hot topic online.

Tyson’s customized MAGA hat has taken social media by storm, with images of the boxing icon wearing the personalized headgear going viral and fueling widespread discussion. Tyson attended President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago gathering as a dinner guest alongside several former NBA players and other notable figures, The Spun reported.

For the occasion, he made a bold statement by sporting a custom MAGA-style hat that left little to the imagination. The Mar-a-Lago gala, hosted by America’s Future and chaired by former national security adviser Mike Flynn, featured Trump signing 43 new executive orders, including measures to expand access to and reduce costs of in vitro fertilization.

This isn’t the first time Tyson has voiced his support for Trump. Decades after dominating the heavyweight boxing world, Tyson has publicly endorsed Trump in all three of his presidential campaigns, advocating for the former president even before he first took office.

According to the New York Post, Tyson commented on Trump in 2016, stating, “Now he knows what it’s like when everybody is out to get you. He’s probably never known that to this extent. All those people he sat down with and gave him [things], now those people are saying, ‘We’ve got to get rid of him at all costs.’”

Tyson further elaborated, “I think it’s a pretty awesome thing that he’s doing so well. People are combining together to make sure he doesn’t win. He’s probably telling himself, ‘They hate me more than they hate [President Barack] Obama.’ You know it’s crazy when people who fought so hard to get rid of Obama would now rather keep him because they hate Trump more than they hate him.”
