Directed by Brad Peyton and written by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite, Atlas boasts a star-studded cast including Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Gregory James Cohan, Abraham Popoola, Lana Parrilla, and Mark Strong.

“At the end of it I was literally sobbing,” revealed the 54-year-old. “After joining a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past,” her “only hope of saving the future of humanity from AI is to trust it”. While talking about her movie, Lopez stated, “I always feel like the movies I do somehow mirror where I’m at in my life.”

Reflecting on her character in this sci-fi thriller, Lopez explained that her role involves a character who is accustomed to isolating herself from the world and dealing with challenges on her own. However, throughout the movie, her character learns that opening up to others, in this case, an AI, is essential for healing the pain from her past.

Lopez emphasized the significance of this emotional journey, stating that learning to lower one’s defenses is one of the bravest and most beautiful actions one can take, both for oneself and for others.
