Kelly Rowland Is Engaged! Singer Confirms Happy News

Not that we didn’t already suspect as much, considering the lovely diamond ring she’s been wearing and the handsome man she’s been spotted around town with, but the singer and X Factor judge has finally confirmed that she’s planning to marry Tim Wither spoon. “He put a ring on it,” Rowland admitted in an interview airing Wednesday on The Queen Latifah Show, happily holding up her hand when Latifah insisted (Thanks, Queen!) on hearing the details in this clip exclusively obtained by E! News. And yes, this technically had been a secret, despite the fact that many people were onto her.

“It’s been a while,” Rowland acknowledged. “We’ve kept it very, very low—for years, to be completely honest.” It’s true, the 32-year-old star almost never discusses her personal life and hadn’t even talked about dating Wither spoon, much less being on the road to the altar. “Because all my boys got crushes on you, so I’m like, ‘She has a man, leave her alone, she’s happy!” Latifah said, explaining why she felt it was particularly important to get the truth out there.

Rowland even revealed that Wither spoon popped the question via Skype while she was in, if she remembers correctly, Bulgaria. “He asked me first on Skype,” she recalled, laughing, “and I was like, ‘We’re so far away from each other.'” “There’s nothing like getting engaged in Bulgaria,” Latifah said, feigning a Slavic accent. “It’s the happiest thing that happened in Bulgaria that day.”

“Exactly,” Rowland agreed. “But it was so late, I remember we were both just kinda like, honestly, just staring at each other. And he asked me, and it was just that simple to say yes.
