She’s set to star in upcoming controversial film Noah, and actress Emma Watson made sure all eyes were on her when she attended the European premiere of the movie in Berlin. The 23-year-old stepped out in a long navy gown for the event which was held at the Zoo Palast theatre on Thursday evening, teaming the look with Christian Louboutin heels. Watson plays daughter-in-law Ila, to the pre-flood Patriarch (played by Russell Crowe), who builds an ark to save God’s creations in a world mired by human sin.
It was banned in three Arab countries after religious leaders complained at the way it depicted the Biblical figure – who is also a prophet in the Koran. Emma Watson released the official Noah trailer to her Twitter followers on Monday, which saw her introduce the clip in a blooper-style reel before the actual trailer. Emma was seen experimenting with different ways of introducing the footage, before eventually giving fans a heartfelt plea to let her know their thoughts on the upcoming film.
The trailer itself then opens with Emma Watson character Ila and Douglas Booth’s Shem indulging in a race through the forest before giving in to a passionate embrace among the foliage. But the pair’s PDA is interrupted by a large amount of birds flying above – an ominous indication of the terror to come. Russell Crowe’s Noah is then seen telling wife Naameh, played by Jennifer Connelly: ‘Our family has a great task.’Ila then tells her father: ‘You saw the wickedness of man, and I knew you would not walk away.’ Noah is released in the UK on April 14th and in the US on April 28th. Dailymail
