Sean Diddy Combs could be facing 300 legal cases: ‘Calls Every Single Day’
Attorney Tony Buzbee has revealed that hundreds of potential victims may still come forward amid the mounting civil cases against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Speaking to the BBC on Wednesday, Buzbee shared that he has received an overwhelming response since urging victims to come forward via social media and a press conference on October 1.
“I think that the potential [number of] cases is probably in the 300 range, but I think realistically, it’ll ultimately be about 100 to 150,” Buzbee said. He noted that calls have poured in “every single day,” estimating approximately 3,000 contacts from alleged victims so far.
The accusations span over a 20-year period and include an equal number of men and women, according to Buzbee. Currently, 20 lawsuits have been filed against the embattled music mogul. Combs’ legal team swiftly responded to Buzbee’s remarks, dismissing his claims as attention-seeking.
“The press conference and 1-800 number that preceded today’s barrage of filings were clear attempts to garner publicity. Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts, their legal defenses, and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman,” the statement read.
Combs remains in federal custody at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center following his September indictment on charges of sex trafficking. His legal team previously accused Buzbee of orchestrating “shameless publicity stunts, designed to extract payments from celebrities.”
The ongoing scandal escalated further on December 8, when Jay-Z was named alongside Diddy in a lawsuit accusing both men of raping a 13-year-old girl 24 years ago after attending the MTV Video Music Awards. The suit, originally filed in October, had initially kept Jay-Z’s identity anonymous.
In response, Jay-Z publicly rejected the allegations, calling out Buzbee in a statement shared on Roc Nation’s X account. “What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!” the Grammy-winner wrote.
As the number of lawsuits grows and public scrutiny intensifies, the allegations against Combs—and now Jay-Z—have become a focal point of one of the most significant legal battles in the entertainment industry in recent years. Buzbee remains firm that more victims will emerge, while Combs and his legal team continue to deny all claims.
