Selena Gomez recently opened up about her commitment to making a positive impact through her makeup brand, Rare Beauty. The 32-year-old singer and actress, who earned her first Emmy nomination for Only Murders in the Building this year, partnered with Sephora for a campaign titled “Make A Rare Impact” in honor of World Mental Health Day.

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Gomez shared, “We created the Rare Impact Fund before we created a single product, and it’s so rewarding to see it being a resource for people when they actually come to our community and seek help.” She expressed her gratitude for the initiative, adding, “I’m just really grateful. This is why I do it.”

Reflecting on her journey, the Emilia Pérez star also reminisced about her early experiences with Sephora, making this collaboration a meaningful full-circle moment for her. “When I was younger, my mom was a makeup artist, so actually, I do remember [coming to Sephora], and it was a place that we couldn’t really afford, to be honest,” she recalled.

Gomez continued, “So, to me, it was so fancy. And it still feels that way sometimes when you walk in, but it’s not as threatening. I thought you had to be professional to know makeup!” She emphasized how her perspective has evolved, highlighting the inclusive and accessible mission behind Rare Beauty.

Through her brand and initiatives like the Rare Impact Fund, Gomez aims to make a difference in the beauty industry and support mental health resources, underscoring her commitment to both her community and her values.
