Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock has voiced her concerns for her family’s safety after scammers attempted to exploit her name through fraudulent social media accounts. In a statement to PEOPLE on February 3, the Speed star warned fans about the rising number of impersonators preying on unsuspecting individuals online.

“My family’s safety, as well as the innocent people being taken advantage of, is my deep concern, and there will be a time when I will comment more,” Bullock said. However, the Bird Box actress emphasized that the immediate priority is working with law enforcement to handle the situation.

Sandra also made it clear that she does not engage in any form of social media, dismissing all accounts claiming to be her as fraudulent. “Any accounts pretending to be me or anyone associated with me are fake accounts and have been created for financial gain or to exploit people around me,” she stated.

The Bullet Train actress, who is a mother of two, issued the statement after her younger sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, exposed an alarming number of fake profiles claiming to be Sandra. On February 2, Gesine took to Instagram, sharing screenshots of the fraudulent accounts and revealing the disturbing extent of the scams.

“I spend multiple times a day reporting fakes, dealing with weird & scary emails to my BUSINESS and HOME from men who believe that, through one of these many fake ‘me’s, they have a relationship with my sister through private messages and off-app sites and have been giving (sometimes) THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to an incredibly famous and successful grown woman,” she wrote.

Gesine further explained that she reports the fraudulent accounts not only through official channels but also via a security service that forwards the information to a Meta employee. “This crime rings and scams are well known by the company and the world, but the fact that I’m put in danger, as is my livelihood, doesn’t mean a damn thing,” she added.

The alarming situation highlights the growing dangers of online impersonation and financial fraud, with scammers continuing to exploit public figures for profit. While Bullock remains focused on assisting law enforcement, the actress urges fans to remain vigilant and avoid interacting with accounts falsely claiming to be her.
