Wendy Williams Clings to Son Kevin as Her Only Support After Devastating TV Career Loss
Wendy Williams has faced significant challenges in recent years, losing her career after struggling with serious health issues, including aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. As she continues to battle these conditions, the former talk show host has found solace in her relationship with her only son, Kevin Hunter Jr., 24, who has become her greatest source of comfort.
“Kevin is everything to her,” a source revealed. “After losing her radio show, TV career, and even her closest friends, he’s about all she has left.” Following her dementia diagnosis, Williams was placed under the guardianship of Sabrina E. Morrissey, and amid claims that she is “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated,” Williams has been focusing on spending time with her son.
As OK! magazine reported, she was recently spotted attending Kevin’s graduation from Florida International University earlier this month. Dressed in a black glittery dress with a deep v-neck, Williams appeared happy and proud as she celebrated the milestone event, reported OK Magazine.
However, the joyful occasion was marred by a tense moment when Williams was seen snapping at her caretakers. She appeared upset that her mobility scooter had been left in the street while they were attempting to leave the event for a celebratory dinner.
“And then both of you walked away leaving my s— in the middle of the street like this,” Williams could be heard saying. “Just get the car, please. Make sure it’s the right car?” She continued to vent her frustration, “They got the wrong car, so I knocked on the door and it was totally the wrong car. They left my scooter as they walked over there.
Leaving my most precious, most — this cost a f—— mint motherf——. They just left my s— out there.” “They’re supposed to be ordering the car, that’s what you’re supposed to be doing. They wanna work for me, that’s what they’re doing,” she added. “They’re making money from me, get the Godd— car.”
Despite these difficult moments, Kevin Jr. has shared that his mother is currently “sober and wants to come home.” “We’re fighting to make that happen because isolation is killing her faster than anything else,” he said, emphasizing the importance of family support during her ongoing health struggles.
