LOS ANGELES—Pop star Katy Perry recently shared an amusing parenting moment, revealing that her four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, has developed a love for some of her more controversial songs.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday, the Roar singer opened up about how Daisy, whom she shares with fiancé Orlando Bloom, has started listening to her music—including one track Perry never wanted her to hear.

“She knows one song of mine that I never wanted her to know, and that’s Peacock,” Perry admitted. The singer, 40, joked that this was “karma” for making people listen to the song when it was first released. “This is my karma after torturing people with this song,” she quipped.

Perry explained that she had recently bought Daisy a peacock dress-up outfit from the zoo, and soon after, her daughter began dancing around the house to the song in full costume. Peacock, which featured on Perry’s 2010 album Teenage Dream, was widely recognized for its cheeky, double-entendre lyrics—making it an unexpected favorite for a four-year-old.

Elsewhere in the interview, Perry discussed her upcoming Lifetimes Tour, emphasizing how motherhood has changed her approach to performing. “I last toured in 2017, and now I have a four-year-old, so this time will be a bit different. It will be her first time around the world,” she shared.

Recognizing the importance of early bedtimes, Perry said she is making a key change to her concert schedule. “I’m starting my shows earlier—at 8:30 p.m.—because, as a mother, I realize how important bedtime is,” she noted.

The Dark Horse hitmaker also acknowledged that many of her fans have grown up alongside her music and may now be parents themselves. “This year, I’m considering all mothers around the world,” Perry said.

She expressed excitement about reconnecting with global audiences, revealing that her daughter loves seeing her perform. “It will be a full-on dance party, and I’m excited to reconnect around the world,” she added. “My daughter came to see me in Vegas, and she likes to see me happy and performing.”

As Perry gears up for her next tour, it’s clear that both her music and motherhood continue to play a major role in shaping her journey.
