Swiss socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein, known for her extensive and extreme plastic surgeries, tragically passed away in her sleep, according to her longtime partner, Lloyd Klein. In an emotional exchange with the press following her death on New Year’s Eve, Klein shared intimate details of her final moments.

“We had a nice happy hour the same night and we were getting ready for the new year, and we took a little nap just to look good before getting dressed,” Klein told People Magazine. However, after their nap, Klein discovered that Wildenstein had passed away.

Klein explained that Wildenstein had been dealing with phlebitis, a condition that causes inflammation of the veins, which can be caused by vein wall damage or blood clots blocking veins. “Because of her phlebitis, the legs were very, very swollen, and the blood was blocked, and there was no oxygen in the brain,” Klein said.

“And we were having a nap and when I woke up, I said, ‘Jocelyn, we have to wake up, we have to get dressed,’ and she was cold and she was dead.” Klein expressed the deep sorrow he felt, saying, “It’s very sad. It’s extremely sad. It’s extremely sad to lay down with your other half that I have known for 21 years and wait to celebrate New Year’s Eve and to find her cold.”

Despite her sudden passing, Klein shared that Wildenstein had seemed to be in good health. He recalled that just days earlier, they had enjoyed time together at the Ritz and had attended Fashion Week at Chanel. “We were at the Ritz two days ago. We were having dinner,” he recalled.

Before that, we had come for Fashion Week at Chanel. Everything was good, everything was good.” Klein further emphasized that Wildenstein had been in “impeccable health” leading up to her death. “She was in great shape. She was in impeccable health,” he added.

Reflecting on their time together, Klein fondly remembered how Wildenstein had been “very happy” during their trip to Paris. “Two months ago, she attended the Chanel show. Everyone invited us to dinner. Everyone welcomed her on the red carpet. Paparazzi were following us.

It was the return to Paris. We were at the top of our game. Everything was at the top,” he shared. The sudden loss of Wildenstein, at the age of 81, has left her partner and loved ones in mourning.
