Hoda Kotb is not saying goodbye to television just yet. The beloved Today show host has signed a new contract with NBC, ensuring she will continue contributing to exclusive interviews and covering major events, including the next two Olympics, Page Six reports.

While Kotb will step down from her daily duties on Today after 26 years, she is far from leaving the network entirely. Kotb explained the shift in her role, saying, “I think it’ll be kind of a Snoop-ish role,” referring to Snoop Dogg’s fun-loving correspondent role during the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Her emotional departure from Today on Friday marked the end of an era for the long-time co-anchor. “I literally have a bottle of Gatorade by my bed. And I’m not kidding after this week of tears,” Kotb revealed, reflecting on the emotional farewell.

Despite stepping back from her full-time position, Kotb will remain involved with Today through monthly segments and high-profile events. She is also set to travel internationally, covering the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. “I want to be a supporting character on a team that is already in place so that I’ll come in and just have a role there,” Kotb explained of her new responsibilities.

In addition to her Olympic coverage, Kotb is continuing her Making Space podcast, which she described as something she “enjoys and loves so much.” Her new agreement with Today includes occasional contributions every four to six weeks, offering fans a regular but smaller presence.

Kotb also hinted at future collaborations with Jenna Bush Hager’s new show, Today With Jenna & Friends. Though she’s stepping away from daily duties, Kotb’s ongoing involvement with NBC ensures her presence will continue to be felt across platforms.

Kotb’s transition to a less demanding role allows her to maintain a connection to the Today show and its audience while also expanding her horizons with new projects. Fans can expect to see her covering global events, producing new content, and contributing to NBC’s rich legacy of live broadcasting.
