Carrie Underwood Shrugs Off Marriage Concerns Amid New ‘American Idol’ Judge Role

Carrie Underwood is brushing aside concerns about her marriage as she takes on her new role as a judge on American Idol. The 41-year-old country music star is excited about her return to the ABC talent show and assures fans that her relationship with her husband Mike Fisher will withstand any challenges posed by the long-distance nature of the job, according to OK Magazine.

Insiders reveal that Underwood remains confident despite the physical separation required for her new role. “Carrie swears they can handle the long distance,” a source shared. “Their friends are anxious about how they’ll handle the distance, but Carrie is determined not to let it impact her marriage.”

Underwood and Fisher, who have been married since 2010, primarily reside in Nashville with their two children, Isaiah, 9, and Jacob, 5. Despite the demands of her new role, Underwood plans to be home as often as possible. “Carrie will be home whenever she can,” the insider said. “Kids need structure, so for the most part, they’ll stay at home while Carrie’s traveling.”

Underwood’s return to American Idol coincides with her transition from a busy touring schedule. Underwood’s return to American Idol wasn’t without competition. On August 1, it was confirmed she would replace Katy Perry and join judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
