On the evening of Thursday, January 9, the 43-year-old singer took to Instagram to share the alarming news with her followers.
In her post, Spears revealed that she had to evacuate from her mansion as the fires advanced. “Spent four hours on the road driving to a hotel,” she wrote in the caption, although she did not clarify whether she was caught in traffic with other evacuees. The singer’s fans quickly expressed concern for her safety, with many offering well-wishes.
Spears joins a long list of celebrities who have been forced to evacuate their homes, with several of them losing their residences to the blaze. Other stars affected by the fires include Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, Jeff Bridges, Adam Brody, and Billy Crystal, all of whom have seen their properties destroyed or severely damaged, told Daily Mail.
The California wildfires, which have been wreaking havoc in Los Angeles, are being fueled by two massive fires from both the east and west.
