Blake Shelton Reportedly Consumed by Guilt After Tragic Loss of a Loved One

Country music star Blake Shelton is reportedly devastated following the tragic suicide of his protégé, Ryan Whyte Maloney, sources reveal. The 48-year-old singer is said to be struggling with guilt, feeling he could have done more to support Maloney, both professionally and emotionally.
According to RadarOnline, Shelton has been deeply affected by Maloney’s passing. The country singer, known for his time on The Voice, died by suicide after shooting himself in the head in front of his fiancée.

A source close to Shelton shared insights into his overwhelming sense of loss. “Blake is kicking himself,” the source revealed. “He wanted to do more to not only help him be a bigger star but to deal with the pressures that come with a life pursuing the kind of success he had,” they continued.
Shelton reportedly saw great potential in Maloney and worked to guide him toward stardom. “Blake saw how badly Ryan wanted his kind of fame and fortune and gave him so many pep talks over the years,” the source said.

The country star even secured Maloney a steady gig at Ole Red, Shelton’s chain of live music venues, to provide him with financial stability. “Blake believed his time was coming and even gave him a great-paying gig performing regularly at [Blake’s chain of venues] Ole Red to help him out,” the insider noted.
Despite Shelton’s efforts, Maloney’s personal struggles remained largely hidden from him. “He only learned later that Ryan suffered from emotional downturns and had suicidal thoughts for some time,” the source said. “Ryan never showed that side of himself to Blake.”
