10 Most Anticipated Confirmed E3 Games

10 Most Anticipated Confirmed E3 Games

This is different than my last E3 list, I promise. This time I’m listing all the games that are already confirmed to be in the works, that I want to see or learn more of at E3. Fallout 4 isn’t here because I didn’t like 3 though I do like New Vegas, Uncharted 4 isn’t here because I still need to play the first 3, and some just barely didn’t make the cut. Anyway, here’s the list:

Joe Montana Football 2K16 –

Joe Montana Football 2K16

The game’s existence aside, it’s been very little outside of rumors. There are rumors that it will be an NFL game released for Xbox One and PC, as EA’s renewed exclusivity doesn’t extend to first-party games and Microsoft is publishing the game. This is what I’m hoping for, as Madden NFL 25 (Madden 14 was a 25 year anniversary release, hence the title) was an enhanced version of Madden 13, and Madden 15 was a buggier and glitchier version of 25 on last-gen consoles (can’t speak to current gen). I own a gaming PC but no next-gen consoles and madden just doesn’t happen on PC. The game will supposedly come out mid-July and utilize Windows 10 on PC, and the individual who leaked all of this (I don’t remember the name and don’t want to call them out) said 2K and Mr. Montana planned on releasing all this info 3-4 weeks prior to launch, which would be right around E3 time.

Mass Effect 4 –

Mass Effect 4

Like many games on this list, little is known other than its existence. That being said, it’s Mass Effect 4. The Mass Effect trilogy are all among my favorite games ever (despite that ending) and after Inquisition ended up being amazing, my hopes are much higher for the fourth entry than they would have been half a year or so ago. We know you won’t be Shepard and that it will take place after the events of the third game (supposedly the not shit ending that was added alter on), which is exactly what I wanna hear. I want to see this massive galaxy in a more mundane rebuilding process. i hope to have a hand in this and see many different planets and civilizations as they attempt to rebuild their societies or maybe redesign them. There’s not much more to comment on, but I love Mass Effect and it seems inevitable that there will be more info at E3, which would definitely make my mass erect… Sorry about that.

Yooka-Laylee –

Yooka-Laylee

I’m not certain if this game will appear at E3, but it had better (I at least want something shown around the same time). Yooka_Laylee is a crow-funded project from Playtonic, a company full of veterans from the old days of Rare (formerly Rareware) who worked on games such as Donkey Kong Country, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Jet Force Gemini, Goldeneye 007, and the game Yooka-Laylee is hyped as a spiritual successor to, Banjo-Kazooie. Banjo-Kazooie is among my favorite games of all time, and possibly my favorite Nintendo 64 game. It has great controls, a gorgeous world, awesome characters, amazing music, and it’s infinitely fun no matter how many times I play it. Rare hasn’t made a quality title since being bought out by Microsoft over a decade ago, and many of its core designers, most of whom are working on this, have been gone for over a decade. So far the game looks amazing and it sounds like a massive amount of love is going into it.

Doom 4 –

Doom 4 Game

Doom is my second favorite FPS series (just behind Metroid prime), I even adore Doom 3, which is seen as the black sheep to many fans. That game had great atmosphere, tight controls, and Hell was awesome, though short-lived. Point is, I love Doom and it’s been far too long since we’ve had a new entry. I don’t know much about this, but being Doom is enough for me to be excited. I do have my reservations though. The only somewhat similar game id Software has made in he last decade or so is Rage, which while very good, was far more vibrant and open-world than Doom games tend to be. If they made a Doom game like that, it would still be fun most likely, but it wouldn’t be Doom.

Persona 5 –

Persona 5 Game

Over the last two and a half years or so, I’ve quickly fallen in love with persona. I’ve put over 100 hours into both 3 and 4, and have made a good amount of progress in the first persona 2 game. All three are amazing stories and I thoroughly enjoy the added social elements of the last two games. I was very relieved when I found out that Persona 5 would be released for the PS3 as well as the PS4. I’m just hoping they employ their recent strategy of making a last-gen game that also sees digital release on PS4. I just don’t want my version to feel bogged down to fit the last-gen technology. as massive as their PS2 games were, I can’t wait to see what they can do with the Playstation 3 and the game itself looks awesome so far, while being different enough from the last two titles to seem like a new experience.

Gears of War 4 –

Gears of War 4 Game

Though this is a working title, it has been confirmed that a new Gears of War project is in the works. From the looks of it, it may be an Xbox One exclusive, hence it being so low on the list. Either way, the first two Gears games are two favorites from the last console generation. The story and characters were great, it still looks amazing, the environments and enemy types were awesome, and horde mode is endless fun with a friend. Gears 3 and Judgment fell off a little, but at least Epic knew to take a break when their games started faltering, unlike many companies. I think this game can be a resurgence in quality, and even if it is an Xbox exclusive, I’m still glad it’s happening.

Mad Max –

Mad Max

I was surprised but not excited when I saw this at E3 last year or the year before (my memory is inconsistent in quality). I expected nothing from it but found the fact that it existed interesting. Now that I’ve seen the open world, the customization, and some of the gameplay, I’m far more enthused. It looks like a very gun and immersive experience within the Mad Max universe. You basically get to live within the world how you see fit and it doesn’t seem linear in the slightest. Many details are still unknown, but what I’ve seen looks amazing.

No Man’s Sky –

No Man's Sky

This was the “omgwtfnoway” moment of the last show for me. An open-galaxy, procedurally generated exploration game with infinite scale. You get to explore a randomly generated universe of seemingly immeasurable scale, landing on planets, exploring, and doing whatever you want/can. Seeing the crazy wildlife, the landscapes, it just, it just looks like such a unique and amazing experience, even if you couldn’t do anything but explore, I’d be down. But there are missions you can play and discover, so there are no worries of it just being a big sandbox with no direction. Though it seems as if it can be if you want it to be.

Metal Gear Solid V –

Metal Gear Solid V

Metal Gear Solid is easily among my favorite series and one of my most tenured series. I still play the games to this day, and I believe it’s one of the best stories in video games. Some statements from Kojima, such as the importance of sex appeal in the games make me a little worried about the priorities in production, but I can’t resist getting my hands on more MGS. They’re just so damn good.

Mighty No. 9/Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night –

Mighty No. 9/Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

This may be a bit of a cheat. These are two Kickstarter-funded games by the creators of Mega man and Castlevania respectively. Two major side=scrolling action franchises with huge backlogs of games that left their respective companies because of the directions they were headed and are now making spiritual successors to their respective masterpieces. Mighty No. 9 is basically a 2.5D mega Man game, with power-ups, awesome bosses and themed stages, and great music from what I’ve heard. Bloodstained has only featured screens and concept art, at least that I’ve seen, but it looks absolutely awe-inspiring, has multiple playable characters, and some amazing designs.
