35-Year-Old Woman Linked to Murder of 5-Year-Old Boy Found Dead After Horrifying Incident
A British mother, Claire Button, 35, has been charged with the murder of her five-year-old son, Lincoln Button, following a tragic incident in South Ockendon, Essex. The case has drawn widespread attention and heartbreak as details emerge.
On December 15, Essex Police and paramedics were called to the Button family home, where Lincoln was pronounced dead. Claire Button was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being discharged and subsequently questioned by police. Essex Police later charged her with murder. She is set to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Monday, told Daily Mail.
Authorities have not disclosed the nature of Lincoln’s injuries or his cause of death. Detective Chief Inspector Alan Blakesley, who is leading the investigation, described it as an “immensely complex investigation into the death of a young child.”
In a statement, Blakesley expressed sympathy for Lincoln’s family. “My thoughts and the thoughts of all the investigative team remain with the family of Lincoln Button as we continue to support them through this awful time,” he said. He also commended the investigative team for their dedication and urged the public to refrain from speculation.
“Any case as harrowing as this will understandably attract attention,” Blakesley acknowledged. “But as we move to the point of charge, the time has come to respect the judicial process and to continue allowing Lincoln’s family privacy and the space to grieve.”
Tributes have poured in for Lincoln, described by his family as a “cherished, loved, sweet, beautiful young soul.” The family added, “Link was adored by all and will be sorely missed every day.”
Lincoln’s primary school, Bonnygate Primary School in South Ockendon, also released a heartfelt statement mourning their former student. “Lincoln was a cheeky, smiley, happy boy who was loved fondly by our Bonnygate family. His love for school, laughter, and cuddles will be remembered and missed dearly.”
The tragic case has left the local community in shock as they grapple with the loss of a young life. As legal proceedings begin, authorities have emphasized the importance of respecting the judicial process and giving Lincoln’s family the privacy they need to grieve.
