Staff members at the conservative Heritage Foundation are celebrating the election victory of former President Donald Trump, convinced that their controversial “Project 2025” plans for his administration have triumphed over liberal skepticism. Although Trump’s team attempted to distance itself from this blueprint during the campaign, sources revealed to NOTUS that Heritage insiders are enjoying what they describe as a successful strategy to convince liberals that Project 2025 was not a real plan.

A former Heritage employee emphasized the perceived success of the strategy, saying, “Now Heritage isn’t going to be scapegoated. If we were planning some evil plan to take over the government and make Donald Trump a king and ship women off to colonies, do you think we would put it on a freaking PDF and post it on the internet? Like, what a joke. It was all lies, and the voters clearly saw through those lies.”

Despite the controversy, the authors of Project 2025 hope that Trump’s incoming administration will consider adopting parts of their proposals, though some Heritage staffers worry that the project’s high-profile notoriety might make its contributors politically unpalatable for official roles. “I still think there are residual hard feelings that are going to make it very hard for Heritage to tout successes on Project 2025 and influences in the administration,” another former Heritage employee commented.

This sentiment was echoed by other staffers who fear that closer ties with Heritage could make entry into Trump’s administration a slow and challenging process. The Trump campaign and Heritage Foundation declined to comment on the report, though a strategist close to the Trump campaign expressed doubts that Project 2025 would render Heritage staff untouchable. “It’s pretty hard to run an entire conservative administration without having somebody who currently or formerly worked at Heritage,” the strategist noted. “You know Trump. Nobody’s ever in the doghouse completely.”

Despite the reservations voiced by some, sources indicate that Trump’s own plans align closely with many of Project 2025’s core proposals. According to one former Heritage employee, the project largely reflects “boilerplate conservative stuff,” aligning well with Trump’s political agenda. The strategist close to the campaign highlighted that Trump, unlike most presidents, is unburdened by the need to seek a second term, freeing him to pursue even the most polarizing policies.

“Frankly, he doesn’t have to worry about winning a second term, so he’s gonna go fcking balls to the wall,” the strategist said, adding, “He wants to make it happen.” In a colorful comparison, the strategist likened Trump to Grover Cleveland, the only other U.S. president to serve two non-consecutive terms. “He’s like, ‘Fck yeah, I know what I’m doing – eat sht and die, all of ya,’” the strategist quipped, capturing Trump’s resolute attitude toward his second-term agenda.

Project 2025, as reported, is a comprehensive policy agenda assembled by the Heritage Foundation to guide Trump’s potential return to office. The project aims to reshape the federal government across various domains, from reducing regulatory influence to restructuring immigration policies. However, given the project’s controversial reputation, the Heritage Foundation staff faces an uncertain path within Trump’s administration, as they work to balance their influence with the project’s polarizing public perception.

Ultimately, while Heritage staffers celebrate the perceived success of Project 2025 in the wake of Trump’s election victory, they may face challenges in translating these plans into official policy. Whether Trump’s administration fully adopts these proposals remains to be seen, but the newly elected president’s ambitions, as his strategist suggested, signal a readiness to push through transformative policies without hesitation.
