J.D. Vance Defends Trump, Slams John Kelly and Kamala Harris in Fiery Response

During a campaign event in Michigan on Thursday, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) was confronted with questions about former President Donald Trump’s former chief of staff, retired Marine Gen. John Kelly, and the recent revelations regarding Trump’s obsession with Adolf Hitler’s generals and his alleged attempt to avoid paying for the funeral of a fallen Latina soldier.

In response, Vance launched into a sharp defense of Trump, attacking both Kelly and Vice President Kamala Harris. Vance began by discrediting Kelly, who has publicly shared details about his time serving under Trump, accusing him of holding a grudge after being dismissed from his role. “John Kelly was fired by Donald Trump, and he’s pissed off about it and he won’t stop talking about it,” Vance said.

He went on to question Kelly’s credibility, citing conflicting accounts from other individuals who were reportedly present during the incidents Kelly described. “Every time that John Kelly says something happened, you’ve got three or four people who were allegedly in the room when it happened saying he’s making it up, told the Guardian.

He claimed the timing was no coincidence, implying that the media and Harris were focused on old grievances rather than addressing current issues facing Americans. “I guarantee” Kelly coordinated his interview in The Atlantic with Harris’ campaign before it went forward, Vance declared.

Vance expressed frustration over Harris’ criticism of Trump’s past remarks, accusing her of deflecting from more pressing issues affecting voters. “We gotta ask ourselves, why are the media and most importantly, why is Kamala Harris talking about a disgruntled former employee instead of the fact that under her leadership, grocery prices are up 25 percent in the state of Michigan instead of talking about something that happened five years ago?” Vance said, referring to inflation and economic concerns in the state.

His remarks escalated as he criticized Harris for what he described as focusing on “petty grievances” rather than discussing her plans for the future. “I speak as an American citizen and I am offended for my fellow American citizens when a person is running for president of the United States, not on what she’s gonna do for the American people, but on a bunch of petty grievances from years ago.”

Vance concluded his response with a direct message to Harris, urging her to focus on the future rather than the past. “Talk about the future, Kamala Harris, talk about what you want to do and shut the hell up about what happened four years ago,” he said.
