During a candid conversation with Drew Barrymore on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday, Pamela Anderson opened up about her relationship status, leaving some uncertainty about how she defines her current situation. The 57-year-old Baywatch star, who parted ways with her bodyguard husband Dan Hayhurst in early 2022, hesitated when asked if she considers herself single.

“Yeah, well, variations of single, I guess,” Anderson replied, somewhat evasively. The former Playboy model seemed uncertain as she added, “I don’t know. No, I’m not even thinking about that right now,” expressing her lack of focus on dating with her body language.

Anderson went on to talk about how content she is with her recent career resurgence, which includes the release of her cookbook titled I Love You. She shared that her current focus is on personal growth and self-discovery. “I’m just thinking about this whole love affair I’m having right now with just life and myself and getting to know myself. Then I’d be a better partner anyway,” she said.

The conversation took a reflective turn when Anderson discussed the societal perceptions of being single, especially for an extended period of time. She revealed that being single for several years sometimes triggers self-doubt. “Sometimes when I say I’m single for seven years, I immediately go to like, well, do people think there’s something wrong with me or I’m not dateable or, you know, what’s, why is that?” she mused.

Anderson also noted that she has observed how others react when she talks about her single status. “I do notice that a lot of people do act weird when I say I’ve been single for seven years, like as if it’s a little taboo,” she shared, reflecting on the stigma sometimes attached to long-term singleness.

In response, Barrymore, who has also spent significant time single, offered a positive perspective. “I find being single really empowering,” she said, encouraging Anderson to embrace her journey of self-love and independence.

The conversation highlighted both Anderson’s and Barrymore’s views on the complexities and rewards of being single, emphasizing the importance of self-discovery and personal fulfillment.
